What’s inside
Seven sheets, one per job.
Measurements (POM)
Points of measure from body length at HPS to rib heights, with hood rows for hoodies and placket rows for polos, sizes XS to 3XL and a tolerance column. The tolerances filled in are examples to agree with your factory.
BOM & trims
Fabric, rib, thread, main, care and size labels, hangtag, polybag and carton, each with supplier and country of origin, which the Korea and Australia origin tests need.
Construction
Seams and stitch types (overlock, coverstitch hems), neck finish, print and embroidery placement, wash, and packing: fold size, pieces per polybag and carton, carton size and maximum gross weight.
Quality & testing
GSM, shrinkage, spirality, colour fastness, pilling and appearance after wash, with the test method left for you and your buyer to agree. AQL block and a list of common knit defects to classify.
Origin & shipping docs
The origin document, who issues it and the fields to check for the EU, UK, Canada, Japan, Korea, Australia and the US, with a REX number field and the EU’s public REX lookup link.
Sample approval log
Proto, fit, size set, lab dip, PP, TOP and shipment samples: date sent, courier, comments and status.
Why knit-specific
Knit fabric moves. Write down how much.
The free tech-pack templates we found in September 2026 are generic, not written for knits. Knit fabric stretches, shrinks and twists, so a knitwear tech pack needs three numbers a woven one can skip.
GSM, with a tolerance
Knit fabric weight varies between lots. A GSM target with an agreed ± % is the simplest way to catch a lighter fabric before it is cut.
Shrinkage after wash
Jersey, fleece and French terry can shrink in length and width after washing. The template records the length and width limits separately, with the wash method.
Spirality (torque)
Single jersey in particular can twist after washing, pulling the side seam toward the front or back. A spirality limit is written in before bulk, not argued about after.

Is the template really free?
Yes. Download the Excel or PDF file directly, with no sign-up or email. It is licensed CC BY 4.0, so you can edit it, share it and use it with any factory, as long as you keep the credit line.
Which garments is it for?
Cut-and-sew knitwear: T-shirts, polos, sweatshirts and hoodies, and other knit tops. The measurement sheet has extra rows for hoods and polo plackets; delete the rows you do not need.
Are the tolerances and AQL levels a standard?
No. The tolerances in the measurement sheet are examples to agree with your factory. The AQL block shows inspection level II with 2.5 for major and 4.0 for minor defects, which is our factory default; replace it with your own.
Which origin document does Canada need for knitwear from Nepal?
CBSA Form B255, completed and signed by the exporter in Nepal. Field 6 is criterion C for T-shirts under HS 6109 and B for polos and most hoodies. The broker declares tariff treatment code 08, and the importer keeps the form for six years.
Is the origin sheet customs advice?
No. It summarises the paperwork each market asks for, as checked on 30 September 2026, with links to the official sources. Confirm the HS code, rule of origin and document for each style with your customs broker.
